Regent Road Elementary
Regent Road Elementary is a brand-new school in BC’s largest school district, Surrey. The goal for this school was to create two separate play areas, one for junior elementary students and another for the upper elementary grades. One of the challenges we faced was fitting the play structures into very narrow spaces. For the younger students we developed a comprehensive structure incorporating easy to challenging components, a comprehensive mix of climbers, overheads, balancing, social/imaginative elements and a large, stand-alone net climber, all condensed into a narrow space. Also included in the design is numerous ground-level elements including the Accessible Rings, Accessible Swinging Bar, and the Woodland Café with Toadstool. For the senior design we created an agility circuit featuring more challenging components to build hand-eye co-ordination, upper-body strength, balancing skills and more, all designed for a very narrow space.
